Wilts Announces New Finance Appointments

Wilts, the largest independent electrical wholesaler, has promoted Ian Webb to the position of Finance Director. Ian, 35, was Financial Controller of Wilts for 3 years before he was promoted to FD. Previous to that Ian was at Allied Domecq for 4 years latterly as Europe Planning Manager. He trained with Ernst and Young and is a qualified chartered accountant.

Ian heads up a team of 50 people at Wilts and has overall responsibility for finance, credit services, purchase ledger, IT, audit and fleet & facilities. He is also company secretary and a pensions trustee. Ian lives in Bristol with his wife and three children Izzie, Harry and new baby Alfie.

Ian commented. “I’m really enjoying the challenge of moving the focus of the the financial department towards supporting business decisions. We are looking to continue growing Wilts through new acquisitions and branch openings, and are really enjoying the chance at helping the business succeed and grow in this current financial climate. This is the time that a good financial team can show what a difference it can make, and we intend to show that Wilts will continue to be a strong independent and ambitious business.”

Also joining his team is Graham Woodward, Credit Services Manager. Graham, 36, is married with a son, Ben, and lives in Bath. He was previously UK Credit Manager at Future Publishing. He heads up a team of 14 people and is enjoying the experience of working within a multisite organisation.
